Until Aperture can process and correct for an extreme condition like this, Lightroom, and, by extension Adobe Camera Raw, will keep it’s place on the top of my list of great raw processors. Don’t get me wrong, though. I do like Aperture. A lot. I just want it to do these kind of corrections. If there is another version on the horizon (something I don’t think is going to happen – but I’d love to be proven wrong), Aperture will need the ability to correct for color fringing and lens distortions as well as, or better than, Lightroom. Let’s hope.
I have said for a while now that Apple should just do a license deal w/ Adobe for the ACR engine – super true now with ACR7…
If Aperture had ACR7 instead of Apple RAW engine it may just be the perfect piece of software, To sweeten the deal Apple should give Adobe the Apple Aperture curves tool… (ACR curves still kinda sucks).

Yeah, *that’ll* happen 😉
I agree that a mash-up would be perfect. Aperture UI with Lightroom processing. That would be the shit.
