This past Saturday was the 50th anniversary of my dad taking these images of President Kennedy as he arrived and departed Gracie Mansion on the upper east side of NYC. The President was in town to dedicate a war memorial at Battery Park, amongst other events. It was also the same day Marilyn Monroe sung her infamous birthday song to JFK (here’s my original post regarding these pix). Anyway, I thought I’d head up there and see if I could channel my dad, and also take new images showing the context of his original images. You can check out higher res versions at this Flickr set.
