So Nokia is coming out with a cellphone camera that records images on a 41-megapixel sensor.
Holy Crap.
I’m gong to be following this more closely, but it looks like they are not exaggerating their claims. It seems that the 41-megapixels will be used mostly for high quality digital zooms, but from these posted samples, it looks like you can get access to the full-sized image. Here are some sample screen grabs from one of the files I opened in Photoshop. I did apply a little sharpening to them, but it didn’t change the file that much. These look incredible for a camera phone. This image is at 50%. Click on to see a 100% crop.
